Environment

Imagine what it was like 72 million years ago. The average temperature was 27 degrees Celsius, the winter was almost nonexistent, and although there was not a great amount of rain, the humidity was sufficient to generate a wealth of vegetation. By the types of fossils that have been found, we know that the region around Saltillo was formed by beaches, shallow coastal lagoons with brackish water, and bays of a deep sea. It was similar to an environment slightly drier than the present coast of Tamaulipas.

These preserved dinosaur foot prints, in sandstone with ripple marks, suggest that this reptile liked to walk through shallow lagoons, probably near the place where it lived.
