Big Discoveries: The Dinosaurs of Coahuila

The Mexican state of Coahuila has one of the most important dinosaur fossil locations in the world. Benefits to Coahuila from the dinosaur research include museums, school improvements, cultural exchange and tourism.

Big Discoveries is a multi-media exhibition about the cultural occurrence surrounding dinosaur research in Coahuila. An introduction and 11 topics are covered by 25 photographs and text, including a step-by-step description of the bone recovery process.

The visitor's experience is enhanced by viewing a 7-minute, narrated video with original music. The video, on DVD, reinforces much of the information in the exhibition, and is followed by a slide show with 23 additional images.

In addition, the exhibition can include real dinosaur bones, invertebrate and plant fossils, and an original bronze sculpture.

The exhibition culminates with a brief description of the evidence contained in the Coahuilan rocks of the great extinction caused by a meteor impact near Yucatan.
