Hot Air Balloons is an exhibition for children. Fourteen colorful
prints are mounted at a child's eye level, making it easy for them to view
and explore. 20 more
images are shown in a continuous slide show.
There are model
balloons hanging from the ceiling, with cards in the shape of
clouds and flags, each printed with information and fun facts about hot air balloons.
Up to 10 light boxes, each with an image, are mounted behind
a panel with viewing holes. On the panel is a happy, painted scene.
Information cards with an introduction to hot air balloons, and a description
of how they work, round out this fun, educational exhibition.
Hot Air Balloons was developed at the request of the 29th annual
Cervantino International Art Festival in Guanajuato, Mexico, October, 2001.
The Cervantino is the largest art festival in Latin America, and attracts
hundreds of thousands of people from
around the world.
The images were taken during the Albuquerque International Balloon
Fiesta 2000, with over 1000 balloons. The Albuquerque fiesta,
in New Mexico, USA, is the largest balloon event in the world.
